Herbs ‘can be natural pesticides’

US scientists told the American Chemical Society’s Fall Meeting in Washington DC that common herbs and spices could be used as environmentally-friendly alternatives to regular pesticides. After a decade of research they showed that rosemary, thyme, clove and mint have insecticidal properties.
