New species of lungless salamander found

15409332Researchers in the US have recently discovered a new species of lungless salamander, scientifically named Urspelerpes brucei, in the southern Appalachians. The salamander has the smallest body size of any salamander in the US and is the first genus of amphibian to be discovered in the US for nearly 50 years.
