National Marine Sanctuaries Media Library

The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of noaa-copyNational Marine Sanctuaries has launched a new online multimedia library offering public access
to thousands of
high-resolution,
ocean-related photos and videos taken by NOAA scientists, educators, divers and archaeologists.

The site allows you to search by keyword, category (e.g. Marine reptiles), subcategories, and sanctuary (e.g. Monterey Bay etc.) and gives options of print or web images and videos. These are all downloadable for use, but do ensure you check out the section on rights attached to each item as there is guidance on how the particular item may be used and what any credits should read as – not much to ask for use of such a great free resource.
